For years, he served the indigenous peoples in the Cordillera mountains in the Philippines.

For that, he was harassed, threatened, and shot by the military. Now, he is permanently disabled, a quadriplegic.

BUT HE WAS NEVER SILENCED.

The J4BL Campaign serves as a vehicle for Brandon to continue to be politically active as a courageous and steadfast advocate and community organizer despite the permanent physical impact on him from the shooting  and the continuous attacks against him and his colleagues in the Philippines.

  • Join Brandon in lobbying the US Congress to pass the PHRA, which would limit US tax dollars from supporting Philippine military and police until the government investigates a d prosecutes those who have committed human rights violations, such as the attack on Brandon. This will ensure that the government and its forces are held accountable for violations against civilians.

  • Join Brandon in continuing to support the Cordillera indigenous peoples struggles.
    The fight to protect the ancestral domain and self-determination of the Cordillera people has given birth to generations of activists and a growing peoples’ movement led by the Cordillera People’s Alliance (CPA) which has been at the forefront of indigenous-led resistance for almost four decades. Despite relentless attacks- harassment, surveillance, and assassinations of activists, the people continue their courageous resistance against multinational corporations and the brutal Philippine fascist state.

  • As a quadriplegic, Brandon supports the United Spinal Association, a national 501(c) (3) nonprofit membership organization dedicated to empowering and advocating for people with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) and all wheelchair users to achieve their highest quality of life.

Because of the attack on his life, Brandon is now physically limited with the permanent spinal cord injury he sustained. This also means long-term everyday care to maintain his health and keep him out of the hospital or care facility.
